Cancerous Super PACs
Does Mitt Romney cause cancer? Well the verdict is still out about the radiation from the plutonium that powers his android heart, but I think we can say with confidence that the man Mitt Romney and his former organization Bain are not carcinogenic.
That’s what makes a recent ad from Priorities USA, a pro-Obama Super PAC, just so appalling. In the ad, a man named Joe Soptic tells of how Romney’s Bain Capitol shut down the plant he worked at, causing him to lose his job and benefits and his wife to die of cancer because they lacked medical insurance. Of course, this is nonsense, as his wife had health insurance for several years after Soptic was laid off. But what’s a couple of years and the truth to a scurrilous Super PAC?
Of course, a wild distortion of the truth against Mitt isn’t going to stop him from acting like an entitled little shit, as when asked about the cancer ad the former Massachusetts Governor wiped back a tear, sighed a heavy sigh and replied “I don’t know what happened to a campaign of hope and change. I thought he was a new kind of politician.” Someone get that man a fainting couch!
I think it’s important that we acknowledge that all Super PACs, whether they come from the left, the right or directly out of David Koch’s evil pockets, are hateful organizations that exist because our Supreme Court seems to think that wealthy people deserve an undue influence over elections because they are wealthy. Well, except for Colbert Super PAC – you make me giggle so you’re alright.
