Hermann Cain, I choose you!
What you are about the read is NOT the final ramblings of an elderly stroke victim spending his last minutes banging on a typie writer: Republican Presidential hopeful Herman Cain lifted lyrics from Donna Summer’s ballad for the Pokemon movie.
Pika pika whaaaaat? New York Magazine broke this strange story when it researched this quote Cain shared at last week’s Republican primary debate “A poet once said, ‘life can be a challenge, life can seem impossible, but it’s never easy when there’s so much on the line’.” Well that’s right purdy Mr. Cain, but those lyrics don’t come from a poet so much as they do from Donna Summer’s song “The Power of One” from the movie Pokemon: The Movie 2000.
Let me first say that I don’t think that the Republican party is welcoming enough to let in Herman Cain, let alone all 646 types of Pokemon (“Gotta catch ’em all? More like gotta deport ’em back to Mexico!”). So Mr.Cain, if you want to win you’d better stick to fictional characters that conservatives are more comfortable with, like Welfare Queens, Prayed-away Gays and Actual Presidential Contender Sarah Palin.
