A new made-up Italian word is born!

In this crazy work-a-day world, it can be hard for the average American to get enough caffeine. I mean, I mainline 4 extra large cans of Red Bull every morning, and I still get the 2:30 p.m. sleepies at work. Won’t someone help me and my fellow citizens?

Well thank goodness Starbucks has stepped in to fill that void. I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of the Seattle based mom and pop coffee shop, but they are continuing this dominance by introducing the ultimate new weapon in the battle to keep Americans from not twitching: the Trenta sized beverage.

The 31-ounce Trenta will be available in May “only for iced coffee, iced tea and iced tea lemonade drinks in the United States”. Are they suggesting, because it’s only available in the U.S., that Americans are the only people who are dumb enough to think of a bathtub full of liquid as a serving size? Or that “Trenta” in Italian would ever mean “31”? That’s weird.

Stay tuned for the “Quartente”, Starbucks’ new beverage where they just fill an used 40 of Old English Malt Liquor with instant coffee and a whole pint of heavy cream. Yum!
