Even in the oldest profession, Dick Clark’s Public Career prostitution, customer services is considered an important pillar of success. That is after knowing how to stab someone to death with a screwdriver.

That’s why, when treated in a less than professional manner by two ladies of the night, a Missouri man called 911 to “get $40 of his money back” because his sex worker did not fellate him as he had paid her to do. It seems a number of silly stories like this have been popping up lately, where people call 911 for incredibly stupid and sometimes illegal reasons; perhaps it’s even why our states are so deeply in the red.

But to me this all seems like a symptom of the way the Internet has expanded our ability to express our feelings towards others. Oh sure Twitter and Facebook might seem like a great way to get into the psychotic mind of Kanye West, but it’s also society’s man platform to gripe about businesses. Perhaps the Missouri man was just so used to knee-jerk complaints about even the most piddling issues that he made a mistake and called 911.

See this is why hookers need Yelp. Oh sure they work different streets, but I know I’d appreciate the ability to cross reference my neighborhood’s best Thai takeout and Handy Js.
