Anchors away, baby!

with 2 comments

There’s been a lot of talk about “Anchor Babies” lately. Besides being just an unethical and frankly inefficient way to keep one’s boat from moving, an “Anchor Baby” is a pejorative term for when a non-American citizen comes to the United States for the devious purpose of letting their childr enjoy the freedoms extended to American citizens and thus anchoring them to the U.S.

Republican dipshit senators from Mitch McConnell to the once rational John McCain and Lindsey Graham have suggested repealing the part of the 14th amendment  that makes all people born in the United States American citizens, thus ending the scourge of Anchor Babies. Congrats G.O.P., you are so ignorant and hateful that you are attacking the amendment that ended slavery. (Watch out ladies, hope you weren’t attached to the right to vote!)

Anyway, I thought I’d put a list together of famous Anchor Babies, or Americans with at least one non-American citizen parents, that the G.O.P. would happily strip of their citizenship:

-Benjamin Franklin

-Leonardo DiCaprio

-Thomas Jefferson

-George Gershwin

-Andrew Jackson

-Barack Obama

-Colin Powell

-Viggo Mortensen

-Tina Fey

But maybe I’m too hasty. How about you can just get rid of the “Anchor Babies” America just doesn’t want anymore, like racist author Michelle Malkin, Real Housewife of NJ Teresa Guidice or Jersey Shore cast mate Vinny?

Eh, scratch that, I wouldn’t want to do that to cable TV. How about anyone who proposes revoking that part of the 14th Amendment ought be haunted by the ghosts of their immigrant ancestors? Jackasses.

  1. You might want to add Nicole Kidman… born in Hawaii to Australian parents.

(Those Australian anchor babies are going to be the ruination of our country.)

If you don’t have objection, I’m writing a blog post on anchor babies, and I’d like to borrow your list (with credit and a link).
