‘Bring ‘em out’ v. ‘Bring ‘em on’- The middle school edition!

Who should teach middle schoolers how to handle bullies-a rapper or a former president? This question is tearing apart one Atlanta area middle school in a way no presidential issue has since Michelle Obama changed Thursday in the school’s cafeteria from ‘Sloppy Joes Day’ to ‘Kale and Tofu Kebab day’.

After spending months in jail on some pretty badass weapons charges, Rapper T.I came to the Woodland Community School  to talk to the students about bullying as part of his community service. Tom Myers, a parent whose child attends that school, was furious that the school forced his daughter to be subjected to T.I’s lecture (presumably because Mr. Myers saw T.I’s movie ATL and is out for revenge). I gotta defend T.I. here for a second: kids are going to drink booze and do drugs at some point anyway, and it’s better that they bring in a role model like T.I. to teach the kids the importance of hydroponic and Remy Martin before they waste their money on the cheap shit.

This story however got soooo much better when the middle school’s principal waded into the issue. Dr. Terry Oatts replied to Mr. Myers angry emails by saying “”I thought about asking a guy who snorted cocaine and got arrested for DUI when he was 30 to come and speak to our kids, but President George W. Bush was not available.” Day-yum! Dr. Oatts is da c00lest principal ever!

It always brings me such pleasure to blog about people telling morons to shut their dumbass mouths.
